JOB PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Activity Director, the responsibilities of the Program Staff Aide are to assist professional program staff as required to meet the needs of the individual members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 ·    Assist professional program staff as required to meet the needs of the individual             clients. 

 ·    Assist with the distribution of breakfast, lunch and snack and kitchen duties as needed. 

 ·    Observes and reports any changes in client's condition. 

 ·    Assist with keeping program areas clean and tidy.  

 ·    Assist with implementing monthly calendar of client centered activities and events. 

 ·    Assist with scheduled activities and on and off site social events 

 ·    Assist with toileting, grooming, and personal care of clients as needed. 

 ·    Assists with client ambulation and transfers.

  •   Assists with any other responsibilities assigned by supervisor
  •   Must have current CPR and First Aid certifications.

  • Adheres to Standard Precautions and infection control measures
  • Maintains equipment and supplies as appropriate

 

   Qualifications

Minimum of eighth grad education, high school graduate or GED preferred.  Must be a mature person of at least 18 years of age who has successfully completed a Certified Home Health Aide Training Program or a Certified Nurse Aide program and has demonstrated competency and has at least one year experience in health care or a social service setting.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
