Position Summary: Provide a variety of supportive services which are necessary to allow a disabled or dependent person to remain in a home setting safely and comfortably.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assists clients homemaking chores with demonstrated skills.

    Reports any changes in client's condition and environmental situation to Clinical Manager.

    Arrives promptly to client's home.

    Maintains a clean, neat and safe environment for the client.

    Attends inservices regularly.

    Documents services provided and submits paperwork in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Education and Licensure
Minimum of eighth grade education, high school graduate or GED preferred and must be a minimum of eighteen years of age. Some experience in maintaining a home including meal preparation, laundry, etc. Must successfully complete at least 40 hours (does not include personal care component) of a Massachusetts Council for Home Care Aide Services (MCHCAS) approved Homemaker training program within first six months of employment or successfully pass the MCHCAS waiver program.  Unless otherwise agreed upon by employer, employee must have a valid drivers license. Furthermore, employee shall have use of a vehicle during working times and insurance as a driver of that automobile.

Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of multi-syllabic words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to record messages and keep simple records. Must be understanding and caring. Must be able to communicate on an acceptable level. Employee must have emotional and mental maturity. Must have a high level of personal hygiene.
